I’m Erin, Genealogist, Historian, and Lover of the past.
If you haven’t heard, there has been a boom in the genealogy world! Seems like more and more people are jumping on the family history band wagon and discovering how exciting and down right cool genealogy is!
I’ve always been the nostalgic type, and pretty much obsessed with history, so when I was introduced to genealogy, it only made sense that I would fall in love with it immediately. Now, I’ve been in this world for 4 years and I have learned so much about my family’s past, met distant relatives that I never even knew I had, shared stories, swapped photos and kept my ancestor’s memories alive. I started sharing my family’s story on this site and rediscovered my love for writing. I can honestly say that my journey has been beyond fulfilling, and the best part is that there is always more to find!
Now, my goal is to share that excitement and spread it to everyone…. because if you don’t know about your family history, you should!! I started with a subscription site, which helped to start a foundation for my research; but after I felt that it had served it’s purpose, I leaped out on my own and started figuring out how to research for myself. I spend a lot of time and trial and error finding sources online. You don’t have to have expensive subscriptions, you just have to have the passion for discovery and know where to look.
Another part of my mission is to create, inspire and propel genealogists of all ages, backgrounds and experience. There are hundreds of millions of stories out there waiting to be told….. I can’t wait to hear yours!

“I’m bound to them, though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives. I will tell their story. I will remember them.”

“My fingers are long, my knees bend in, my eyes are big and my teeth are straight. I’m tall, and my hair is brown with curl and my eyes are blue. My nails are brittle, I have freckles on my face and arms and my chin points out a bit. I look at myself in the mirror, I look at my face, I look down at my hands and I think those hands belonged to someone else. Those eyes look back at me in the mirror and wonder who did they belong to? Where did my big eyes come from, or the ball at the tip of my nose? Who had my hands? ……. and what was their story?
I have stories. I have stories of my childhood, of college, of meeting my husband and falling in love. I have stories of when my children were born and I saw them for the first time. I have stories of friendships and heartbreak, struggles and obstacles I’ve overcome. And someday those stories will be lost. Someday no one will know who I was, or where I came from, where I went or what I did. Someday someone will look down at their hands, and they’ll be mine and maybe they’ll wonder about me.
I want to know them. I want to know who they were and what they did. I want to tell their stories and share their lives so that they’re not forgotten, so that they live on.”
